Andrew Smith
As owner and principal consultant of Boyce Nemec Designs, Mr. Smith will be responsible for supervision and review of the work produced by his office. His role as
design engineer will be to review the technical requirements and architectural constraints of the audiovisual spaces, and to develop and specify appropriate audiovisual systems.
Mr. Smith succeeded Mr. Nemec as principal of the firm in 1988. He holds a Master of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rochester, both in electrical engineering. Mr. Smith has designed and specified numerous high-performance film, video, and audio systems for educational, municipal, and industrial clients. He has developed several proprietary computer programs as theater and audiovisual design aids. Mr. Smith is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Connecticut, and is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
Patrick Barrett
Mr. Barrett is senior associate at Boyce Nemec Designs. He is responsible for project management and business development. Prior to joining Boyce Nemec
Designs, Patrick served as Director of Project Management as well as Senior Consultant at Artec Consultants, Inc., theater consultants. Mr. Barrett holds a
BA in Theater Studies specializing in sound design from the University of Connecticut and a MFA in technical design and production from the Yale School of Drama.
Wonjoon Choi
Mr. Choi is senior design associate at Boyce Nemec Designs. He is responsible for coordination with the architect and other consultants to assure that the
audiovisual systems will be effectively integrated in the overall building design. He will prepare detailed drawings of audiovisual equipment and projection system geometry, and prepare final audiovisual contract documents. Mr. Choi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Myongji University and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Hartford.
Bartek Pociecha
Mr. Pociecha is design associate at Boyce Nemec Designs. Mr. Pociecha holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture from the University of Hartford. He is a recipient of the 2013 Tai Soo Kim Traveling Fellowship Award.
